I’ve had my ipod touch 32g for over a month now. My first ipod or music player ever. I’ve read many reviews here and they’ve helped immensely.
The pros: easy to sync with your computer, nice large screen to type, copy, paste and email with. Some of the apps are simply incredible. You have so many to chose from. The search is half the fun.
It really is a mini-computer. Fast downloads, pages appears as if you were viewing from your computer. You can tap the screen to enlarge the reading area and to copy a photo from any site online is a snap. Applying a face, object or photo to a contact is a tap and save.
The contact list works very smoothly and you can add a map/direction to each contact so when you’re out on the road you need only to bring up your contact and the directions are there. Worried about the traffic, this map will show you your route and how cluttered it is.
My favorite is plugging it into my car, using the car speakers to play music. Who needs satellite radio when you can play your own using your speakers. Of course you need a vehicle that works with this feature.
Cons:
No complete user manual. This should be standard.
The wifi is terrific but only if you find the ‘open’ access. I have wireless at home so naturally it’ll connect anywhere within reach at home and nearby.
Other locations are not so easy to find and connect to. All the places; work-shopping centers and parking lots I tested it in showed me many hot spots for wifi but all were locked so I couldn’t get a connection.
This means no internet, utube, many apps won’t work as they need the internet connection. Unless you turn off your wifi roaming, the battery goes down fast while searching.
Battery life per charge isn’t what is claimed. You’ll charge your ipod often if you listen for more than 3 hours of music or are using the wifi/internet.
Playing games really draws on the battery and is a challenge…it could be because I’m a novice with this sort of produ
